The history of Unity High School in Khartoum, Sudan told through the words and pictures of the Unity High School Archive, dating back to 1902.
This photo looks like it was taken around the time that Llewellyn Gwynne was playing for Derby County FC. According to his biography, Pastor On The Nile, he was summoned by his bishop who strongly disapproved of the young curate playing football for a league side. Gwynne, however, was able to persuade his superior that the players' demeanor and language had improved with his presence!
Yes, I think that this would have been about that time Muna. There are photos of Gwynne engaged in various activities in the UK and Sudan, including sitting with the students of Unity, in the CMS Archive at the University of Birmingham in the UK, but none seem to show him playing football sadly.
